Women’s Novice 8+ Wins Gold At Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University Women's rowing team wrapped competition at the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday with a gold medal in the Novice 8+.
The win helped Drexel secure the overall championship with a total of 139.75 points.
The best result for the Dragons was in the Novice 8+. Rowing in Maria Papadakis, the group of Belen Rosales (coxswain), Baylor Henry (stroke), Emily Gresham, Margaret Dobrenko, Maya Jacobsen, Delaney Gellert, Emily Ellis, Ellen McCallin, and Bella Lee (bow) won gold in 6:50.039, nine seconds better than second place USMA.
Also earning a medal was the women's pair. Chloe Tramontano and Fiona Steele took silver. Competing in Theresa and Jeremy McDonald, the duo finished the course in 8:02.830.
The Dragons return to action tomorrow when they compete in the Colonial Athletic Association championships on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
