Women's Rowing Places Three on Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA – Natalie Cleri, Giavanna Hunt, and Alexandra Natale of the Drexel women's rowing team were named Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area as announced on Wednesday.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, a student-athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
All three competed in the Dragons' Varsity 8+ throughout the year with Cleri as the coxswain, Hunt in the second seat, and Natale in the fifth seat. Drexel won the Kerr Cup and Kelly Cup and scored its most points ever at the CAA Championships with 38, tying for first. Additionally, DU was named the CAA Boat of the Week on April 5 for its performance at the Sunshine State Invitational.
Cleri is the president of the Drexel Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a CRCA Scholar Athlete. She has a 3.85 GPA in psychology.
Hunt has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll and has a 3.88 GPA in materials science and engineering.
Natale was named All-CAA for her performance at the conference championships and is a member of the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. She has a 3.75 GPA in civil engineering.
