Men's Tennis Competes in Hofstra Invitational

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Drexel men's tennis team traveled to Hempstead, N.Y. to play in the Hofstra Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Dragons competed against St. John's on Saturday and Hofstra on Saturday.
The Dragons were impressive in doubles play winning four of six matches. Against the Pride, Daniel Dudockin and Matvey Radionov won their match, 6-3. Djordje Janackovic and Juan Manuel Sanchez paired and defeated their opponents 7-6 (2). On Saturday, Janackovic and Manuel Sanchez earned another 7-6 victory. Kael Shah and Hugo Brungs paired together and got a 6-4 victory.
In singles play, Alex De Sousa earned a win on Sunday, 6-3, 6-0. Radionov defeated his opponent on Sunday, 6-4, 6-2. Shah earned his first two collegiate wins, defeating his St. John's opponent on Saturday, 7-6, 2-6, 14-12 and then earning a 6-3, 6-0 victory on Sunday. Alan Jesudason earned a victory on Saturday, defeating his opponent, 7-5, 6-1. Lastly, Brungs earned a three-set victory over his Hofstra opponent, 3-6, 7-6 (4), 10-8.
The Dragons look ahead to October 1 to see if any Dragons are chosen to participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American tournament in Tulsa, Okla.
