Drexel Runs Unbeaten Streak to Six Games With Draw at SJU

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's soccer team continued its unprecedented run to open the season, as the Dragons remained unbeaten through six games, coming away with a hardfought 2-2 draw at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon.

BY THE NUMBERS

Delaney Lappin and Isabel Kuzy each scored for Drexel. For Lappin, it was her second in as many games and third of the season. It was Kuzy's second goal of the year.
Annalena O'Reilly delivered an assist on the Kuzy goal, her first helper since the 2021 spring season.
With its sixth consecutive unbeaten contest, Drexel has now doubled its previous best start to a season. The 2000 team was unbeaten in its first three contests of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Early in the fifth minute, Lappin used a great individual effort as the Hawks played the ball towards the end line. Lappin saved it from going over the line, cut back to the inside of the box and rocketed the shot into the top left corner. It was Drexel's third goal this season inside of the first 10 minutes of the match.
After SJU tied it, the Hawks gave the ball away at midfield. The Dragons sent the ball deep down the left side where O'Reilly chased it down and centered it for Kuzy who redirected the ball into the back of the net.
Drexel was able to hold on to the draw as Molly Piso came up with a stop with 48 seconds remaining, her seventh save of the day.
