No. 3 Women's Squash Remains Undefeated, Beating Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Trailing 3-1 after the first rotation, the No. 3 Drexel women's squash team rallied for a 6-3 win against No. 7 Virginia on Sunday afternoon in a Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference showdown.
In the opening rotation, Drexel got a point from Emma Bartley in the seventh position, who pulled off an 11-4, 9-11, 11-7, 5-11, 11-8 win against Maureen Foley to earn the first point of the day for the Dragons.
The second rotation drew better results as Ciara Richards won 9-11, 13-11, 11-4, 12-10 at number nine before Moa Bonnemark tied the match with a sweep of Olivia Walsh, 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 in the fifth position. Margot Prow held off Lina Tammam 2-11, 11-9, 11-8, 4-11, 11-9 to push the Dragons to the brink of the win.
At number eight, Sanya Vats clinched the match, rallying from 2-1 down to claim an 11-9, 8-11, 12-14, 11-4, 11-5 victory against Nicolina Tessitore. Also claiming a win was Alina Bushma at the top of the ladder.
The Dragons return to action for a rematch of last year's national semifinal, hosting No. 2 Trinity on Thursday, January 19. Opening serve from the Kline and Specter Squash Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
