
N.C. A&T Comes From Behind to Defeat the Dragons, 68-55

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina A&T went on a 21-0 run early in the second half and came from behind to defeat Drexel, 68-55, at the Corbett Sports Center on Thursday night. The win snapped the Dragons three-game winning streak.
Drexel (12-9, 6-3 CAA) held a 35-28 lead early in the second half after Lamar Oden, Jr. sank a short jumper. On the next possession, the Aggies (11-12, 6-4) started their run. N.C. A&T got hot and as they did, the Dragons' offense went cold. Drexel went more than six and a half minutes without a point as their seven-point lead turned into a 14-point deficit. The Aggies' lead swelled to 20 points before Drexel tried to make a late run. The Dragons had a 10-0 run of their own and made it a 10-point game at 60-50 with 3:25 to play. That would be as close as they would get.
Coletrane Washington and Justin Moore each had 14 points to lead the Dragons. Luke House added 11, while Oden, Jr. had nine rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Dragons shot 30 percent from the floor and were just 9-for-33 (.273) in the second half.
Marcus Watson led everyone with 22 points. Demetric Horton added 16 points, while Kam Woods scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had seven assists. The Aggies made six 3-pointers in the second half, two of those by Watson which gave N.C. A&T the lead for good. They made just one in the first half.
Drexel played well defensively in the opening 20 minutes and looked to be in good shape heading to the locker room. Drexel held the high-powered Aggie offense to just 19 points and forced 11 turnovers. The Dragons led 31-19 a the break and held North Carolina A&T without a point for the final 4:12 of the first half. The Aggies missed 14 of their last 15 shots in the half. Drexel only shot 33 percent in the half, but knocked down seven 3-pointers. Washington had three of those and led everyone with nine points in the half.
The Dragons conclude their two-game North Carolina trip on Saturday at Elon. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. Drexel will then return home to host the nationally-ranked College of Charleston on February 2.
