Men’s Tennis Defeats Villanova, 6-1

Rhazali Reaches 100 Men’s Victories
PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team defeated the Villanova Wildcats on Friday afternoon, 6-1, at the Vidas Athletic Complex.
The victory was Director of Tennis and head coach of the men's tennis team Mehdi Rhazali's 100th victory as a men's coach. Since taking over the program in 2012, Rhazali has had an impressive run. All of his men's teams, with the exception of one, have finished with at least a .500 win percentage. In his coaching career, Rhazali has 190 career wins, split amongst both the men's team and women's.
The Dragons started the match by sweeping the doubles point. Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa paired to defeat their opponents, 6-2. Daniel Dudockin and Matvey Redionov took the second-seeded match 6-2. In his collegiate debut, Pierre Humayou paired with Juan Manuel Sanchez and earned his first career victory, 6-3.
In singles play, De Sousa downed his top-spot opponent, 6-1, 6-2. Dudockin earned a victory over his opponent in the second seeded match, 7-5, 6-2. In the third-seeded match, Radionov finished his opponent in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, to clinch the match.
In the No. 5 spot, Sanchez took his match in two sets along with Hugo Brungs who won his fourth-seeded match in two sets as well.
The Dragons return to Vidas Courts on Sunday, January 29 to host the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
