Washington Reaches 2,000 Point Milestone

PHILADELPHIA – Keishana Washington became the second player in Drexel women's basketball history to eclipse the 2,000 point mark as the Dragons downed the Hofstra Pride 69-57 on Friday night.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Washington finished the game with 24 points and now has 2,013 in her career.
- It was also the 53rd consecutive game with 10 or more points for the Pickering, Ontario native, breaking the Dragons record of 52, previously held by Gabriela Marginean.
- Joining Washington in double figures were Hetta Saatman and Kylie Lavelle, netting 10 apiece.
- Maura Hendrixson delivered 11 assists in the game, her sixth time this season with double digit assists.
- Chloe Hodges had seven points and six rebounds with a career-high with four assists
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Pride scored the opening basket of the contest, Drexel went on a 13-2 run during the next 4:35. It was a team effort in the span as five different players scored for DU. The run helped the Dragons to a 22-13 lead after 10 minutes.
- An early run in the second by Hofstra closed the gap to seven, but an 8-0 Drexel run late in the frame enabled the Dragons to take a 36-24 lead into the break.
- The Pride would not go away and once again sliced the edge to seven in the first four minutes of the third, but an 11-5 run that once again saw multiple players score pushed Drexel on top 51-38 with 10 minutes remaining.
- DU maintained its lead throughout the fourth, eventually pushing the advantage to 14 at the seven-minute mark. Hofstra made a late run, but the Dragons got a layup by Washington, a pair of free throws from Hendrixson and a basket from Tori Hyduke to seal the win.
