TOWSON, Md. - The Drexel men's basketball team will look to move to 3-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play on Thursday night with a tough road game at long-time rival Towson. Drexel is 8-6 and the Dragons enter the contest with a three-game winning streak. The 2022-23 men's basketball season is presented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98.

About Drexel
The Dragons opened CAA with a pair of home games and posted wins against both Elon and William & Mary. On Saturday, Amari Williams had 18 points, nine rebounds and a career-high six blocked shots in the win. He was rewarded by being named the CAA Player of the Week. Lamar Oden, Jr. and Justin Moore each added 11 points. The Dragons held another opponent under 60 points and are now 8-0 when doing that. They enter the game tied for 24th in the nation (as of Tuesday a.m.) in scoring defense.

Willams leads the squad with 14.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 31 rejections and 25 steals. He leads the CAA and is 20th in the nation in blocked shots. Coletrane Washington has a team-high 33 3-pointers and averages 12.3 points. Williams and Justin Moore each have 31 assists.

About Towson
The Tigers come into the contest with an 8-6 record and an 0-1 mark in conference play after dropping a close affair to the College of Charleston, 76-74. Charleston is now ranked 23rd in the nation. Towson has been hampered by injuries in non-conference play. The Tigers started out 8-1, but have lost five straight. Losses during that stretch came to Clemson, Navy Northern Iowa, Bryant and Charleston.

Nicholas Timberlake, Cam Holden and Charles Thompson provide a great deal of offense for the Tigers. Timberlake and Holden each average 15 points or more. Thompson averages 12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds, which leads the team. The Tigers score almost 70 points per game and shoot 44 percent from the floor. They are once again one of the top rebounding teams in the league and average more than 12 offensive boards per game.

Against the Tigers
Tonight marks the 78th meeting between Drexel and William & Mary. The Dragons lead the series, 50-27. Last year each team won on its home court. The Dragons will be looking for their first win in Towson since 2015. The Tigers have won the last six meetings in Maryland.

What's Next
Drexel returns to the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday. Monmouth will make its first appearance as a CAA school. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m.
