HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
- Lappin set a pair of Drexel records. With her third assist of the day, she passed Aleka Yiantsos for the most career points in DU history. Lappin ended the day with 64 career points, scoring 24 goals and contributing 16 assists.
- The Corbin City, N.J. native also added four assists in the game, setting a new single-game program mark.
- Drexel's eight goals in the contest are the third most in a match in program history, behind a 10-goal outburst against Delaware State on March 28, 2021 and nine goals against the Hornets on October 11, 2003.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lappin added a goal to her four assist day, giving her six points in total.
- Meg Tate and Casey Touey each had a pair of goals in the contest. Tate added an assist in the game for a five-point day.
- Liv Brocious, Gabrielle Perrotto and Charlotte Saville had a goal each. Elise Duffy and Tori Yost each had an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 10th minute, Lappin came down the right side and slid the ball through the area to Saville who tapped it in for her first career goal.
- The game remained 1-0 until the 32nd minute when Duffy sent a ball from the top left of the box into the middle where Tate ran on to it and poked it home for a 2-0 lead. Drexel scored one more time before the half as Touey claimed the ball on a Lady Pirates turnover and sent the ball far post.
- In the second half, Tate delivered a ball from just inside midfield down the right side where Perrotto took it one-on-one past the keeper and walked the ball into the net.
- DU earned a corner in the top of the 72nd minute and delivered as Lappin found Tate on a perfect cross. Tate redirected the ball into the top left on a header, making it 5-0.
- That goal opened a flurry for Drexel. 81 seconds later, Lappin notched her record-setting point on a long ball up the field to Touey, who took a couple touches before netting her second of the contest. Lappin got in on the goal scoring act as she took a feed from Yost and went five-hole on the keeper. Liv Brocious capped the scoring in the 84th minute on a feed from Lappin.
