Di Leva and Van Hellemont Named to NFHCA All Mid-Atlantic Region Teams

GENEVA, N.Y. - Eline Di Leva and Valentine Van Hellemont of Drexel Field Hockey were named to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Teams, announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.The pair are among just 32 players recognized in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the NFHCA.
Eline Di Leva | Sr. - F
Di Leva closed out her career this fall fifth in Drexel history with 86 points and sixth all-time with 24 assists and 31 goals. She led the Dragons in points and twice in goals in the past three seasons. This fall, she was awarded the NFHCA DI Offensive Player of the Week, back-to-back CAA Player of the Week, and CAA All-Tournament team honors. Di Leva is also a four-time All-CAA First Team and three time NFHCA Academic Squad selection. This is the senior's fourth NFHCA regional honor of her career as she was named to the First Team as a freshman and junior and Second Team as a sophomore.
Valentine Van Hellemont | Fr. - F/M
Van Hellemont earned her first NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region selection as she was chosen to the second team. The freshman was named CAA Rookie of the Year and was the second Dragon since Tess Bernheimer (2016) to win the major award. Valentine appeared and started in all 20 games for Drexel and has played in at least 45 minutes in 17 contests. Van Hellemont leads the team with 12 goals this season including the game-winning tally against American. In addition to winning the Rookie of the Year award, Van Hellemont was picked to the All-CAA First Team and Rookie Team.
