Dragons Conclude Fall Season at Dragon Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team completed its fall season on Sunday with the conclusion of the annual Dragon Invitational, held at Vidas Courts.
Drexel faced Monmouth on Friday, a team of Hofstra and NJIT together on Saturday and then St. John's on Sunday. Altogether, the Dragons earned four doubles victories and nine singles matches to close the fall slate.
Hussein El Tawil won four matches over the weekend, taking down his opponents on Friday and Sunday. Against Monmouth, El Tawil defeated Alex Martinez, 6-3, 6-4. On Sunday, El Tawil earned a three-set victory, 6-2, 4-6, 10-4.
Alex De Sousa also ended his fall on the right note, earning five victories, including sweeping the singles competition. The junior did not allow any of his matches to reach the decisive third set.
Drexel wrapped one of its most successful fall slates, sending three players to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Super Regional and also piecing together a strong showing at the Navy Invitational and also the Saint Joseph's Invitational.
