Drexel Defeats Arcadia, 63-39

PHILADELPHIA – A pair of 12 point performances by Hetta Saatman and Chloe Hodges helped lift the Drexel women's basketball team (5-6) over the Arcadia Knights (9-0), 63-39, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Friday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
Hodges scored 12 points and collected seven rebounds across 28 minutes. The senior has now pieced together four double-digit scoring performances.
Saatman turned in her best performance of the year, scoring 12 points.
Brooke Mullin was one point shy of a double-double, scoring 9 points and dishing 10 assists. The graduate student also grabbed five rebounds.
Drexel held the Knights to just 12 points in the first half and caused 26 turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Drexel jumped out to a 19-6 lead after the first frame of play, holding Arcadia scoreless until two minutes left in the quarter. The Dragons went 3-for-5 from long range and kept the Knights quiet, holding them to just 2-for-11 shooting.
The second quarter had almost the same exact result as the first. The Dragons scored 16 points and held Arcadia to six points. Hodges and Saatman both went perfect from the field to each score six points. Drexel went on a 12-0 run to end the first half.
Arcadia had the advantage in the third quarter, 14-10. The Knights closed the third frame on a 10-4 run. However, Drexel held a 45-26 at the end of the quarter.
Drexel closed out the game by holding Arcadia to a scoring drought in the final three minutes. The Dragons scored 18 points and held the Knights to 13. In addition, Drexel caused six turnovers to close the game.

The Dragons begin conference play on January 5 as the Hampton Pirates make a visit to Philadelphia. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
