
No. 7 Men's Squash Gets Senior Night Win Against No. 8 Cornell

PHILADELPHIA – In their final home match, the No. 7 Drexel men's squash team sent its seniors off in fashion with a 6-3 win against No. 8 Cornell on Friday night.
Prior to the contest, the Dragons thanked Shaan Dalal, Noel Heaton, Matias Knudsen, Filip Krueger and Gautam Nagpal for their contributions to the program throughout their careers in a Senior Night ceremony.
Despite the final score, DU had to work for its win as only two Drexel points came via the sweep. At No. 5 Fritiof Jacobsson downed Humza Khan 11-9, 11-5, 11-3 while Shomari Wiltshire took a 16-14, 11-5, 11-4 final in the eighth position against Morgan Huberman.
Three victories for the Dragons went the distance, including the top two positions on the ladder. Matias Knudsen upended Veer Chotrani 11-5, 9-11, 2-11, 11-7, 11-5 at number one with Nico Serna winning a back-and-forth battle in the second spot, 10-12, 12-10, 9-11, 11-8, 11-8 against Aaron Liang.
Filip Krueger outlasted Rohan Iyer, 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 9-11, 11-3 in the sixth position and Noel Heaton claimed an 11-5, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5 victory against Tanay Punjabi at number seven.
Drexel closes the regular season with two matches on the road, starting at No . 1 Harvard on Sunday, February 12. Opening serve from Cambridge, Mass. is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
