PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's team defeated the Delaware State Hornets, 5-2, on Friday afternoon at the Vidas Courts. The Dragons improve their record to 3-3, while the Hornets drop to 1-3-1.

The Dragons earned the doubles point after Lorie Lemongo and Renata Lombera defeated their top-seeded opponents, 7-5, and Isabel Cabrerizo and Cristina Corte Gonzalez downed their counterparts in the No. 2 match, 7-5.

In singles play, Lemongo won the top flight, 6-2, 6-1, while Cabrerizo coasted to a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Lombera came back after dropping the first set and defeated her opponent, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5). In the fourth-seeded match, Corte Gonzalez won , 7-6, 6-2.

The Dragons travel to Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday to face the Mountain Hawks at 2 p.m.
