HAMPTON, Va. - The Drexel men's basketball team will make its final regular-season road trip this weekend when it visits Hampton University. The Dragons and Pirates will tip-off at 4 p.m. at the Hampton University Convocation Center. The 2022-23 Drexel Men's Basketball Season is presented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98.

About the Dragons
Drexel has a 15-13 record entering the game today and is in fifth place in the CAA at 9-7. The Dragons dropped a double-overtime decision to UNCW on Thursday night at the DAC. It was the fourth overtime game of the season for DU and the first one the Dragons have lost this season.

The Dragons have been playing shorthanded lately due to injuries and will be undermanned once again on Saturday. Yame Butler, who played sparingly most of the season, has made the most of his opportunity. He scored a career-high 25 points on Thursday night and also had nine rebounds. Coletrane Washington had a good defensive game against the Seahawks and also scored 13 points. Amari Williams had 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

About the Pirates
The Pirates are 3-12 in their first season of CAA play. They are 6-22 overall. However, Hampton has won five games at home this season at the Hampton University Convention Center. The Pirates have three players that average at least 12 points a game, led by Jordan Nesbitt who scores 15.1 points per game. Marquis Godwin shoots better than 40 percent from long range and averages 12.6 points per game, while Deuce Dean has 123 assists and chips in with 12.4 points.

The Series
Drexel won the first meeting in Philadelphia earlier this season, 79-73. It was the first time the two schools have ever met. Lamar Oden scored 16 points to lead Drexel. Justin Moore added 14 points and seven assists. Hampton's Deuce Dean led all players with 21 points, while Marquis Godwin scored 19 points.

What's Next
The Dragons close the regular season on Thursday night at the the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Northeastern comes to Philadelphia for its annual visit. Drexel won the first meeting in Boston earlier this season. The CAA Championships begin on March 7 in Washington, D.C.
