Dragons Downed in Connecticut Trip

STORRS, Conn. – The Drexel women's tennis team played in a pair of matches on Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19 in Storrs, Conn. The Dragons fell to Fairfield 4-3 on Saturday and then to UCONN on Sunday, 4-0.
On Saturday, the Dragons earned three points in the third, fourth and fifth-seeded matches. Isabel Cabrerizo downed her opponent in the No. 3 after falling in the first set. In the fourth-seeded match, Cristina Corte Gonzalez defeated her opponent, 6-1, 6-3. Lastly, in the fifth-seeded match, Aida Garcia Mendez picked up a two-set victory, 6-4, 7-5.
The Dragons return to Philadelphia on Feb. 24, to face Norfolk State. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Vidas Courts.
