Men's Swimming and Diving Wins Five Medals on Day Three of the CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va. - The Drexel men's swimming and diving team completed day three of the CAA Championships on Friday evening.
The Dragons won five medals on the day starting with the 100 fly where Jakub Kwasny won silver in the 100 fly with a time of 46.29. This mark set a program record which was previously set Friday morning in the prelims when Sebastian Smith clocked in at 46.83. Next, Alessio Gianni earned a silver medal in the 400 IM finishing with a time of 3:52.03.
Following Gianni was his compatriot Andrea Casini, who won a bronze in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.14. Next up was Kacper Karnik who earned a bronze medal in the 100 breast with a time of 53.42. Lastly, the 200 free relay team earned a silver medal as Jakub Kwasny, Alasdair Bell, Sebastian Smith and John Scully combined for a time of 1:19.50. This was another program record which was previously set at the CAA Championships back in 2019.
The 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 freestyle relay will be featured on the final day of the CAA Championships on Saturday evening. The finals are slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Hampton, Va.
