
No. 4 Women's Squash Starts MASC Championships with Sweep of F&M

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 4 Drexel University women's squash team opened the Mid-Atlantic Squash Championships in style with a 9-0 win against No. 19 Franklin & Marshall on Friday afternoon.
Getting things started for the Dragons was Moa Bonnemark who took an 11-2 11-2, 11-3 win at number six. Following this was a 11-1, 11-2, 11-2 win for Lydia Robinson in the seventh spot. Alina Bushma won 11-7, 11-4, 11-7 at number one with Dina Rosli finishing with a 11-4, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8 win in the third spot.
Drexel clinched the victory at number nine when Lara Varma took an 11-0, 11-2, 11-2 decision. Next, Sanya Vats won at number five 11-1, 11-7, 11-3. Ciara Richards upended her opponent 11-3, 11-2, 11-3 at number eight, followed by an 11-2, 11-2, 11-3 win for Moa Bonnemark in the sixth spot. Afterwards it was Emma Bartley in the fourth spot, who took down her opponent 11-4, 11-1, 11-2 in the second to last match of the afternoon. Finishing the sweep for Drexel was Noa Romero at number two, taking an 11-8, 11-3, 11-7 win.
Up next the Dragons face-off against No. 18 Georgetown as the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships continue. The action starts Saturday morning with a start time of 9:00 a.m.
