No. 4 Women's Squash Advances to MASC Final with Sweep of Georgetown

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 4 Drexel women's squash team continued its run at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference championships on Saturday morning with a 9-0 win against No. 18 Georgetown.
The Dragons made quick work of things in the first rotation with all four matches lasting less than 19 minutes. Opening the day was Karina Tyma at number two with her 11-1, 11-4, 11-4 win against Sydney Bramen. In the third spot, Dina Rosli took an 11-6, 11-6, 11-1 victory against Nine Thomas. At number six, Moa Bonnemark earned an 11-7, 11-3, 11-5 decision while in the seventh spot, Lydia Robinson claimed a 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 victory.
Clinching the match for the Dragons was Lara Varma at number nine who downed Nina Flinn 11-2, 11-1, 11-7.
Rounding out the sweep were Alina Bushma at the top of the ladder with her 11-5, 11-1, 11-6 victory against Katie Hennessy. Sanya Vats won 11-3, 11-1, 11-8 in the fifth position, Emma Bartley took a 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 final at number four and Ciara Richards won 11-0, 11-4, 11-3 in the eighth spot.
Drexel advances to the championship match of the MASC Championships where it will take on No. 7 Virginia on Sunday, February 5. Opening serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
