- The Dragons carried the momentum into the ensuing period, using a 10-2 run, the last five of which came in a three second span as Saatman hit a jumper before a steal and score, plus a foul on the inbound pass by O'Neill. The Huskies battled back, posting six straight points, cutting the lead to three before a pair of free throws by O'Neill pushed DU on top 32-27 at the break.
- Drexel opened the third quarter on fire, going 5-of-6 to open the stanza, extending the advantage to 44-30 just more than three minutes in. The rest of the frame was played evenly as the Dragons held a double digit lead into the final quarter.
- The fourth period seemed to be going the same way as DU opened a 56-42 lead on a pair of free throws by Washington at the 6:55 mark. From there, Northeastern made a run, scoring eight in a row, slicing the lead to 56-50 before Washington banked home a three-pointer to beat the shot clock.
