Dragons of the Week: Bednarik and Nicholas

PHILADELPHIA - Corinne Bednarik of women's lacrosse and Drue Nicholas of golf have been named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of April 24-30.

Bednarik led Drexel with a season-high six goals and accounted for eight points as the Dragons rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Monmouth on Saturday, clinching a berth in their third consecutive CAA championship in the process. She also led DU with five draw controls in the game and scooped two ground balls.

Nicholas was seven-under par over three days on his way to finishing second overall at the CAA Championships. The Egg Harbor, N.J. product earned CAA All-Tournament Team honors for the second straight season. In the final round, Nicholas carded a three-under-par 69. He played each round under par during the event and became just the second Drexel player to finish in second place at a CAA Championship. Nicholas has been under par in each of his last six rounds, going back to last season, at the CAA Championships.
