Dragons of the Week: Cuocco and Men's Rowing

PHILADELPHIA – Jenika Cuocco of women's lacrosse and the Drexel men's rowing team have been named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of May 8-14, 2023.
In her first year on the field, Cuocco helped the Dragons to their third consecutive NCAA Championship appearance after accruing a 12-6 record in the cage. In Drexel's first round game against No. 11 Maryland, the sophomore stopped 12 shots for a .521 save percentage and scooped up two ground balls. Of the 12 saves, Cuocco earned seven in the second half. The CAA Goalie and Rookie of the Year closed the season with a .532 save percentage, 185 saves and averaged 9.21 goals allowed per game.
For a second consecutive year, the Drexel men's rowing team took the men's points trophy as the Dragons were crowned champions at the 84th Annual Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River on Saturday. Drexel clinched the men's points title with a win in the Varsity 8+, finishing with 117 points on the day. It is the first time the Dragons have won the men's points title two years in a row. The Dragons also claimed the gold medal in the 2V8+ and Novice 8+. It is the second straight year DU took earned the gold medal in both the First and Second Varsity 8+ boats.
