Drexel Selected Fourth in Tie with Northeastern
RICHMOND, Va. – Eline Di Leva and Megan Hadfield were chosen for the Preseason All-CAA team, as announced by the conference during Monday afternoon's preseason awards. The Dragons, as a team, were ranked fourth, sharing the position with Northeastern. Additionally, Liz Chipman earned Honorable Mention preseason status.
Di Leva led Drexel last season with ten goals, including a game-winner against No. 20 William & Mary in an overtime 1-0 victory. Following the 2022 season, she earned First Team All-CAA honors and was chosen to the NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team. This is the senior's third time on the preseason All-CAA team.
Hadfield enters her graduate season with a .661 save percentage and 323 career saves which is 8th all-time in program history. Last season, she started all 20 games for the Dragons and held a 1.98 goals-against average. This is her first appearance on the Preseason All-CAA team.
Chipman was chosen to the CAA All-Tournament team last season for her efforts in the conference championships and found a game-winning goal against Saint Francis (PA) in a 3-2 victory. The senior played a career-high 1037 minutes and started in 19 games for Drexel.
The Dragons open the 2023 season at home on Buckley Field against Bucknell on Friday, August 25. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and will be streamed on FloLive($).
