Dragons Battle To Final Whistle at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Annalena O'Reilly and Isabel Kuzy both found the back of the net, but the Drexel women's soccer team was downed 3-2 by the Hofstra Pride on Long Island on Thursday night.
After the Pride scored on a loose ball in the opening 20 minutes, Drexel leveled the game in the 29th. As DU moved into the offensive area, O'Reilly was tackled off the ball inside the box and was awarded a penalty. She calmly stepped to the spot and buried the ball in the back of the net.
Hofstra scored twice in the early portion of the second stanza. Fighting through the remainder of the contest, Kuzy netted her second of the season in the 75th minute, coming from a Meg Tate feed.
The Dragons take to the field next on Sunday, September 17 when they host the rival Delaware Blue Hens at Vidas Field. Opening tap is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. For the game, women's soccer is working with Drexel Dance Marathon to help raise money in support of childhood cancer relief.
