Drexel trailed by four late in the first half after a pair of UNCW 3-pointers with just under four minutes to play. Zach Spiker called a timeout and the Dragons responded with an 8-0 run, keyed by a pair of 3-pointers. Moore started the run with a 3-pointer from straight on and House concluded the stretch with a long trey, forcing UNCW to call time. The Seahawks' Shykeim Phillips was able to score on UNCW's last possession as Drexel took a two-point lead to the locker room.
UNCW was led by Trazarien White, who finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Donovan Newby scored 16 points and was perfect in seven free throw attempts. The Seahawks finished the day 31 percent from the floor.
The Dragons will be on the road for their next three games. They start that stretch Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. game at William & Mary.
