EIWA Announces New Dual Meet Division Championships for 2024-25 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) announced Wednesday a new division-based dual meet format. Beginning this season, teams will be divided into two divisions, competing against one another for respective Divisional Championships. A full divisional dual meet schedule will debut in the 2025-26 season.
The two divisions are the Independence Division and the Patriot Division. Drexel will be one of seven teams in the Independence Division.
Kyle Borshoff, Binghamton University Head Wrestling Coach & EIWA Coaches Association President says, "Creating two divisions within the EIWA provides the opportunity for member teams to establish dual meet consistency and create exciting rivalries that our fans can count on seeing year in and year out. Creating the Independence and Patriot divisions allows us to highlight the excitement that surrounds the dual meet portion of our season, as all of our teams work to establish themselves as divisional champions."
The Dragons first Independence Division Dual will be January 18, 2025 against Binghamton in the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
