
Men's Swimming and Diving Take Second Place at the Bruno Invite

PROVIDENCE, RI- The Drexel men's swimming and diving team finished in second place with 1312.5 points at the Bruno Invite. Brown University took the top spot of the standings.
In the 200 backstroke, Theo Andreopoulos delivered a silver-medal performance, finishing with a time of 1:44.74 after qualifying first in prelims with a 1:44.55. Other Dragons finished the event with Petar Pavalic finishing fifth (1:46.44), Dimi Gkelis placing sixth (1:46.86), and Alessio Gianni taking eighth (1:47.61) in the A-final.
Sebastian Smith earned a bronze medal in the 100 freestyle, with a time of 43.91, improving on his prelim time of 44.22.
Jakub Kwasny continued his stellar meet with a gold medal in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 1:46.15. Kwasny qualified first with a prelim time of 1:46.58. Alessio Gianni added a bronze medal in the event, finishing with a time of 1:48.19, while Mohammed ElTayeb finished fifth at 1:50.05.
In the 200 breaststroke, Kacper Karnik earned a bronze medal with a time of 1:59.95, improving on his fifth-place prelim seed of 2:01.32. Bartosz Loter also made the A-final, finishing sixth with a time of 2:00.91.
The relay team of Andreopoulos, Rullis, Pavalic, and Smith capped off the day with a bronze medal in the 400 freestyle relay, hitting the wall at 2:55.16.
Next for the Dragons will be hosting Leigh on December 7th. The meet begins at 10:30 am.
