TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Drexel women's basketball team was defeated by Florida State, 101-51, in Tallahassee, Fla. on Sunday afternoon in the Tucker Center.
BY THE NUMBERS
Amaris Baker led the Dragons in scoring, adding 20 points to the stat sheet.
Cara McCormack pieced together her best game this season, scoring 11 points and tallying two assists and one rebound.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FSU took an early advantage in the first quarter, 32-19. Amaris Baker led the Dragons by shooting 4-for-7 and knocking down two 3-pointers. The senior also grabbed three rebounds. The Seminoles shot a blistering 12-for-17. Ta'Niya Latson led the Seminoles with 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting.
The Dragons were held to just six points in the second quarter. Florida State paced the Dragons by scoring 20 on 8-for-18 shooting. At the end of the first half, Baker led the the Dragons with 12 points.
FSU outscored the Dragons 23-10 in the third quarter, shooting 11-for-21. DU, led by McCormack with five points, shot 6-for-14.
The Dragons scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and conceded 26 to FSU. Drexel went 5-for-6 from the free throw line in the frame.
WHAT'S NEXT
Drexel travels to Norfolk, Va. to take on the Norkfolk State Spartans on Wednesday, December 18. The game is slated to tip at 7 p.m. inside Echols Memorial Hall.
