Dragons Defeat Siena, 6-1

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team continued its perfect start to the spring season, defeating the Siena Saints, 6-1.
In doubles play, Drexel swept the point with very little resistance. Elisa Rigazio and Maddie Ricardo paired in the No. 2 match and won, 6-1. In the top-seeded match, Lorie Lemongo and Renata Lombera earned a similar result, 6-1. Isabel Cabrerizo and Adva Dabah defeated Zaara Omar and Shelby Madeiros, 6-3.
The Dragons continued their dominance in singles play. Lemongo earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory in the No. 1 match. In the second-seeded match, Lombera defeated Omar, 6-1, 6-3. With the Dragons up three, the Saints won the third-seeded match to give themselves a chance. However, Rebecca Fiedler clinched the match after she defeated her opponent in the No. 6 match, 6-2, 6-3.
In the No. 5 match, Dabah earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory, while Maddie Ricardo outlasted her opponent in the fifth-seeded match, 6-2, 7-6 (1), 10-7.
Drexel returns to action on Saturday, February 17. The Dragons travel to Brooklyn, N.Y. to face LIU at 12 p.m.
