Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes First Night of CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va. – The Drexel women's swimming and diving team completed the first day of four at the CAA Championships in Hampton, Va., on Wednesday night. The Dragons finished the night with a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay.
The conference tournament only featured two women's events on Wednesday night. In the first event of the night, the team of Federica Nocera, Ewa Osiniak, Megan Ehrnfeldt and Chelsea Gravereaux finished the race in 1:40.41, beating their entry time by 1.75 seconds. The time fell short of third place by just 0.2 seconds.
Skye Bilger, Jessie Rothrock, Emma Flickinger and Nocera represented Drexel in the 800 free relay and finished in sixth place after touching the wall in 7:35.44.
After the first night of competition, Drexel is in sixth place with 100 points, behind Towson, William & Mary, Northeastern, Delaware and UNCW, who is in first. The championships continue on Thursday, where the 500 free, 200 medley relay, 50 free, women's 3-meter diving and 400 medley relay will take place. Prelims begin at 10 a.m., followed by diving prelims at 12:30 p.m. The finals will kick off from the Hampton Aquaplex at 6 p.m. The entirety of the 2024 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships, including preliminaries, will be streamed on FloSwimming.
