Dragons Suffer Setback at William & Mary, 75-62

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Drexel women's basketball team was defeated by the William & Mary Tribe on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Va., 75-62.
BY THE NUMBERS
Hetta Saatman and Chloe Hodges each scored double-digits for Drexel, scoring 14 and 13 points, respectively. Hodges recorded eight rebounds and dished six assists in the effort.
The Tribe did the most damage inside the paint on Sunday afternoon, scoring 44 points. Of the teams 75 points, 42 came from the W&M bench.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tribe opened the game on a six-point run in the first two minutes. The Dragons rallied behind Saatman, who scored four points and helped Drexel close the first quarter down by nine, 17-8.
Drexel chipped away at the deficit in the second quarter by outscoring the Tribe, 15-12. Saatman continued to lead the Dragons, scoring six points. The graduate student went 1-for-2 from the field and shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Drexel closed the first half, going 4-for-5.
Seven of the eight Dragons who played in the quarter scored a bucket. Saatman led the Dragons with four points. Drexel shot 7-for-13, while the Tribe went 9-for-14. The Tribe went on a seven-point run in the middle of the quarter to help outscore the Dragons, 23-17.
In the fourth, Drexel tallied its highest point total of 22, but could not contain the Tribe, who scored 23. Hodges led the Dragons in the scoring column after shooting 3-for-4 and converting a free throw. The senior ended the quarter with seven points.

Drexel begins the next conference week on a bye. On Sunday, the North Carolina A&T Aggies make a trip to the Daskalakis Athletic Center to take on the Dragons. The game is set for 1 p.m.
