Dr. Zach Hankle Named Drexel’s Athletics Psychologist

PHILADELPHIA – Dr. Zach Hankle has been named Drexel's Athletics Psychologist. Hankle is the first full-time psychologist to work in the department and will be available to each of Drexel's 18 varsity teams.
"We are excited to announce the formation of this position and welcome Dr. Zach Hankle to Drexel," said Drexel Director of Athletics Maisha Kelly. "Student-athlete welfare is a matter of paramount importance. Bringing a professional like Zach on to campus and embedding him into our department should enable us to enhance the support and resources we provide in the areas of mental health and well-being of our student athletes."
Dr. Hankle received his Psy.D. in counseling psychology from Chatham University in 2023. He additionally received his M.S. in counseling psychology from Chatham in 2019 and his B.A. in communications from the University of Cincinnati in 2015. He specializes in providing a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a relational and strength-based focused to children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Hankle has had experience working with athletes in both the mental health and professional sectors at various athletic levels.
Dr. Hankle is experienced in adapting treatments to address comorbid presentations and situational stressors. He has provided therapy in a variety of multidisciplinary settings such as college counseling centers, inpatient hospitals and outpatient clinics.
