Dragons Welcome Campbell to DAC for Senior Day on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel welcomes the Campbell Camels to the DAC for the first time ever on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. Prior to the game, Drexel Athletics and the Drexel women's basketball team will honor Erin Doherty, Brooke Mullin, Hetta Saatman, Jasmine Valentine and Erin Sweeney for their dedication to the women's basketball program.
Last Time Out
Amaris Baker tied a career-high 21 points as the Drexel women's basketball team fell short to the Stony Brook Seawolves, 60-58 on Friday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Baker finished the game, shooting 10-for-22, with five rebounds and three assists. The junior also contributed a full 40-minute performance for the second time this season.
Jasmine Valentine also tied a career-high in points with 11. The senior pulled in four boards and finished with a pair of steals.
The Dragons held the lead over the top team in the CAA for 32:45, leading by as much as 19 halfway through the third quarter. The Dragons held Stony Brook to just 7-for-21 in the first half and forced a season-high 24 turnovers for the Seawolves.
Scouting Report
The Camels enter the final home game at the DAC with a 15-11 record overall and a 8-7 mark in conference play. Most recently, Campbell very slightly defeated the Delaware Blue Hens, 66-65, on Friday night. In that game, Delaware had mounted a 10-0 run to end the game. But it was not enough to defeat the Camels, who had four double-digit scorers.
The Camels only has one player who averages over 10 points per game. Christabel Ezumah leads Campbell with 12.4 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. She also has blocked 43 shots, which is third in the conference.
Following Ezumah is Shy Tuelle, who averages 9.6 points per game and averages 29.3 minutes per game.
The Camels are coached by Ronny Fisher, in his eighth season and 16th season overall. Prior to Campbell, Fisher coached at Presbyterian for eight seasons. An alum of Furman '90, Fisher has accumulated a 150-87 record.

Sunday marks just the second time that the Campbell Camels and Drexel Dragons will face eachother. The first meeting was on Wednesday, December 30, 1992 at the Diamond Club Classic. The Camels, won the game, 71-52.

The Dragons finish the regular season next weekend down south. On Thursday, March 7, Drexel visits North Carolina A&T to face the Aggies at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the regular season finale, Drexel takes on the Elon Phoenix. Tipoff against the Phoenix is slated for noon on Saturday.
