ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Drexel women's tennis team fell to Navy, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon in Annapolis, Md.
Navy earned the doubles point after earning victories in the second and third-seeded matches. In the top-seeded match, Renata Lombera and Lorie Lemongo grinded out a victory after winning the tiebreaker, 13-11.
In singles play, Navy took the sixth-seeded match to take a 2-0 lead. In the No. 3 match, Elisa Rigazio downed her opponent, Stella Ribaudo, 6-3, 6-0. Navy extended its lead over Drexel after it finished the No. 4 match. But Drexel was not finished, Maddie Ricardo finished her No. 5 match victorious, 6-3, 7-5. Navy won both the No. 1 and No. 2 matches to clinch the victory.
The Dragons return to action on Sunday, March 10 to face the Cornell Big Red. First serve is slated for 11 a.m. from Vidas Courts.
