Women's Tennis Defeats UNCW, 4-2

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Drexel women's tennis team earned a 4-2 victory over the UNCW Seahawks on Friday morning in Wilmington, N.C.
The Dragons earned a pair of doubles wins to take the first point of the match. In the No. 2 match, Maddie Ricardo and Elisa Rigazio defeated their opponents, 6-2, while Isabel Cabrerizo and Adva Dabah paired to win their match, 7-6 (6).
In singles play, Rigazio took a pair of 6-3 sets in the No. 2 match to earn Drexel its second point. UNCW fired back by winning the third-seeded match. The win pulled the Seahawks within one, but the Dragons pulled back in front after Cabrerizo closed out a three-set battle, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. UNCW won its second match by taking the sixth-seeded match, but Ricardo finished her three-set match 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, to clinch the victory for Drexel.
Drexel returns to action on Thursday, April 4. The Dragons travel to Villanova to take on the Wildcats at 3 p.m.
