Drexel Records Three Second Place Finishes Over Ranked Opponents on Lake Carnegie

PRINCETON, N.J - The No. 17 Drexel men's rowing team secured three second place finishes over ranked opponents No. 2 Princeton, No. 18 Georgetown and No. 23 Temple. Princeton was victorious in all four races on Lake Carnegie.
In the first race of the morning, the Varsity 8+ team, competing in Lois Krall II, composed of Alex Dragovits (Coxswain), James Schmidt (Stroke), Damian Lis, Josh Diggons, Zoran Bosnic, Quinn Cooney, Andrew Manns, Jack Anderson and Andrei Malis (Bow) finished three-tenths of a second ahead of the Georgetown boat to finish second with a time of 6:00.2.
The Third Varsity 8+ team, competing in Sandra Lee Sheller II, composed of Matt Sherman (Coxswain), Matthew Kennedy (Stroke), Nikola Loncar, Zach Key, Willem Kirsch, Maxwell Frey, Daniel Yurcisin, Collin Gross and Sam Valigorsky came home in second with a time of 6:25.7
In the Fourth/Fifth Varsity race, the Fourth Varsity 8+ team, competing in Lois Krall II, composed of Charlotte Bentrim (Coxswain), Vuk Mladenovic (Stroke), Samuel Lozek, Charlie Fortner, Milo Epstein, Aidan Seiger, Joe Glenn, Sean Williams and Dearon Tufankjian rounded out the day in second place, crossing with a time of 6:42.7.
"It was a great day of racing against some top level teams." said Drexel Men's Rowing Head Coach Matt Weaver. "Most boats put together a great, composed race."
Drexel heads to Fairfax Station, Va. as they take part in the Occoquan Invite on Saturday, April 13.
