Men's Varsity 8+ Finishes Second in Occoquan Invitational

FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - The No. 19 Drexel men's rowing team finished the Occoquan Invitational in second place with victories over top competition Sunday afternoon.
Rowing in Lois Krall III, Chloe Minicucci (Coxswain), Josh Diggons (Stroke), Zoran Bosnic, James Schmidt, Damian Lis, Jack Anderson, Andrew Manns, John Little and Andrei Malis (Bow) finished just behind the No. 12 Navy boat, crossing with a time of 5:48.31. Drexel bested the boats of No. 17 Georgetown and No. 22 Holy Cross.
The 2nd Varsity 8 boat, rowing in Lois Krall III, composed of Alex Dragovits (Coxswain) Marawan Mohamed (Stroke), Nikola Loncar, Michael Pazderski, Nemanja Sajatovic, Quinn Cooney, Roman Smigiel, Collin Gross and Dearon Tufankjian clocked in second place with a time of 5:53.45.
The 3rd Varsity 8+ team, rowing in Sandra Lee Sheller II, also came home in second place with a time of 6:08.09.
"It was a great team performance today," said Drexel Head Coach Matt Weaver. "We had big improvements from all our crews over the last two weeks. We have some great building blocks to build off as we head into the end of the regular season."
UP NEXT
The Dragons return to the Schuylkill River to host the Kerr Cup Regatta Saturday, April 20.
