Women’s Varsity 8+ Named CAA Boat of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - The Drexel women's rowing Varsity 8+ team was named CAA Boat of the Week Tuesday afternoon for its performance at the 85th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River. DU won the overall points championship, with the women's team finishing third in the women's standings. This is the second time the Dragons have received Boat of the Week honors.
Chloe Speciale (Coxswain), Julianna Rogers (Stroke), Kira Tracy, Taylor Powell, Mollie Knoff, Kayla Driscoll, Rita Keefer, Ariana Townsend and Sarah Ghazaz (Bow) won gold in the Grand Final, finishing with a time of 6:54.010. The Dragons got out the gates strong and led the majority of the race. DU finished just shy of a boat length ahead of the boats of Fordham, Georgetown, Emby-Riddle, La Salle and Loyola (MD).
Drexel returns to the waters of the Cooper River for the CAA Championships, May 17-18.
