Diggons and Team USA Win Gold at U23 World Championships

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario - Josh Diggons of Drexel men's rowing won gold with the United States Men's Coxed Four (BM4+) at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada Thursday afternoon.
The boat of Diggons, Leo Bessler, Miles Hudgins, Braden Porterfield, and IIiad Izadi won in dominating fashion. Team USA crossed the line with a time of 6:15.55, over four seconds quicker than the Italian crew. This was Diggons debut in international competition.
The Ocean City, N.J. native was named an IRCA Second Team All-American in 2024. Diggons and the Varsity 8+ captured their third straight gold medal victory at the Dad Vail last season, collecting both the men's and the overall championships.
James Schmidt is set to compete in the B Final with the United States in the Men's Quadruple Scull tomorrow at 10:05 a.m.
