Drexel Men's Squash Defeats Cornell, 7-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's squash team knocked off Cornell 7-2 on Thursday night. The Dragons move to 6-3 on the season and are on a two-game winning streak.
Haris Qasim overcame a slow start to defeat Aaron Liang 3-1 (3-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3). Youssef Bastawy secured the 3-1 win over Youssef Sarhan (12-14, 11-8, 14-12, 11-8), while Fritiof Jacobsson edged out Rohan Iyer in a five-game thriller (11-4, 4-11, 11-13, 11-5, 11-9).
Yuri Pelbart earned a straight-set victory over Tanay Punjabi (15-13, 11-2, 11-5), and Dima Dumitru added another point with a 3-1 win over Roman Bicknell (11-9, 5-11, 11-8, 11-6). Sean Murphy, Tavneet Mundra, and Thiago Cabrejos all delivered clean 3-0 wins. Despite his efforts, Guido Lindner fell in a five-game match against Arnaav Sareen (10-12, 11-4, 2-11, 11-5, 5-11), and Charlie Taylor lost a battle to Shreemann Raghavan (11-9, 9-11, 6-11, 11-6, 13-15).
Drexel will be on the road in Charlottesville, Va. on Sunday to take on Virginia. The match is set for 12:00pm.
