Dragons Sweep Duke and Morgan State

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Drexel wrestling team was victorious in both of the matches on the day, defeating Duke, 37-4, and Morgan State, 38-9. No. 18 Jasiah Queen defeated No. 26 Aidan Wallace, picking up his third ranked win of the season. Overall, six Dragons were victorious in both of their matches.
Match 1
Drexel was victorious in the first nine contests against the Blue Devils, rolling to a 37-4 team win. The Dragons recorded bonus points in seven of their ten matches.
Desmond Pleasant and No. 24 Kyle Waterman opened the day with back-to-back technical falls, giving Drexel an early 10-0 lead. Jordan Soriano followed with a major decision, and freshman Patrick Kelly made his dual debut in strong fashion, grinding out a 3-0 decision at 149 lbs.
At 157 lbs, Luke Nichter captured his first win of the season with an 11-2 major decision. Dom Findora added his first dual victory at 165 lbs with an 11-3 decision.
No. 18 Jasiah Queen earned his third win over a ranked opponent this season, edging No. 26 Aidan Wallace in a tight 4-2 bout. Ethan Wilson kept the momentum rolling at 184 lbs with Drexel's third technical fall of the day (TF 18-2), and Ibrahim Ameer cruised at 197 lbs with an 18-5 major decision to help lock in the 37-4 final.

Drexel picked up its second win of the day against EIWA foe Morgan State, 38-9. The Dragons were victorious in their final six matches and earned bonus points in six of ten bouts. With the win, DU starts the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2020-21 campaign.
Pleasant opened the dual with his second technical fall of the day. At 141 lbs, Soriano followed with a fall early in the second period, and Luke Nichter added a 9-4 decision at 157 lbs for his second win of the afternoon.
Cody Walsh wrestled at 165 lbs and delivered a 6-1 decision win. Jasiah Queen continued the momentum at 174 lbs with an impressive 11-3 major decision. Ethan Wilson added another dominant performance with his second technical fall of the day, and Ibrahim Ameer closed things out at 197 lbs with the Dragons' second pin of the dual, sealing the 38-9 victory.
