PHILADELPHIA – Eight of Drexel's varsity athletic teams scored 100 percent on the latest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) announced by the NCAA on Wednesday. It marks the sixth straight academic year that Drexel has had at least seven teams achieve 100 percent on the GSR. Overall, Drexel Athletics scored 94 percent on the GSR; a mark only reached twice before this cohort.
Drexel had six women's teams, and two men's teams score 100 percent on the GSR. The women's teams that achieved a perfect score were basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving and tennis. For the men, the basketball and golf teams each had a score of 100 percent.
The GSR is a measure that the NCAA uses to evaluate academic performance and includes first time freshmen student-athletes from the 2018-19 cohort, mid-year freshmen student-athletes and those student-athletes that transferred into the institution. It also subtracts student-athletes who leave the institution with allowable exclusions and those that would have been academically eligible to compete had they returned to the institution.
