Dragons Fall to Saint Joseph's, 76-65

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel Dragons fell on the road to the Saint Joseph's Hawks on Saturday, 76-65, at Hagan Arena. Villiam Garcia Adsten and Josh Reed led the team in scoring with 12 points each.
BY THE NUMBERS
Garcia Adsten finished the game with a double-double, adding 11 rebounds to his 12 points.
Shane Blakeney led the team with 35 minutes played while also stealing the ball four times and pulling down seven rebounds. The junior also added 10 points to his stat sheet.
Kevon Vanderhorst shot four for seven on the day and two for four from three. He also had four rebounds, a steal and a block.
The Dragons out rebounded the Hawks, 42-39, and held the Hawks to under 38 percent shooting.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead before baskets from Eli Beard, Blakeney, and Reed cut the lead down to three.
The Dragons took the lead with 9:00 left in the first half and held onto it until halftime. Drexel shot 44.4% in the first half and 41.7% from three.
The second half was a hard played, back and forth game before Saint Joseph's pulled away in the final four minutes. SJU closed the game on a 14-5 run in the final five minutes of play to end with the largest lead in the game of 11 points.

The Dragons will travel up to Hamilton, New York to face the Colgate Raiders on Tuesday, November 11, before playing Syracuse at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on November 15. Action from Hamilton is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
