Kyle Waterman Named EIWA Wrestler of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Kyle Waterman of the Drexel wrestling team was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Wrestler of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. This is the first EIWA weekly award of Waterman's career.
Waterman defeated No. 13 Dylan Shawver during Drexel's dual with Rutgers on Sunday. The redshirt senior upset Shawver via a 5-4 decision. Waterman started the bout with 4-0 lead, securing a takedown and an escape point. Shawver fought back to tie the match up at four apiece, but Waterman managed to gain an escape point to win the match.
With the victory, Waterman moves to No. 30 in the FloWrestling national rankings. The Holland, Pa., native is now 2-2 on the season with all four matches coming in dual competition.
