Golf Completes First Tournament of the Spring in Puerto Rico

Final Results

HUMACAO, Puerto Rico - The Drexel golf team completed its first tournament of the spring season on Tuesday morning. The event was scheduled to be three rounds in three days, but with rain in the forecast, the teams played until sunset on Monday and completed the rest of the third round today. The Palmas Del Mar Collegiate was played at Palmas Del Mar Country Club (Flamboyan Course) which was playing at 7,122-yards. . Arkansas edged TCU by two strokes to win the 14-team tournament, which had nine Power 4 schools in it.

Griffin Mitchell was the team's top finisher in the event. He shot 2-over par over 54 holes and had a 74 in the final round, which tied Kevin Lydon for the low score for the team on Tuesday. Lydon was second overall on the team at 7-over par. Brockton English and Caleb Taylor each shot 75 in the final round. Andrew Wallace carded a 77. The Dragons finished 14th overall.
