
Drexel Downs Franklin & Marshall, 30-9

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Drexel wrestling team defeated Franklin & Marshall, 30-9, in Lancaster, Pa. on Friday Night. The Dragons (9-9) are 4-1 in conference and lead the EIWA Independence Division with a 2-0 record. DU were victorious in eight of the ten matches, including the last seven.
No. 31 Desmond Pleasant started things out with three points for the Dragons at 125-pounds. Pleasant got out to an early 8-2. A comeback by Jack Parker was not enough as Pleasant fought off a late attack to get the 9-7 decision win.
Dom Findora got three more points for the Dragons at 149-pounds. The bout was tied at one apiece going into the final two minutes. Findora took control and recorded two takedowns to take the victory with 7-2 decision. No. 31 Luke Nichter earned his 11th win of the season at 157-pounds. Nichter cruised to a 11-1 win, with Luke Bender only scoring an escape point in the closing seconds.
Cody Walsh defeated Josh Palmucci at 165-pounds. Walsh fought a takedown attempt in the first, scoring up of his own to finish the first up 3-1. The redshirt senior added two more points for the 5-2 decision win. Jasiah Queen picked up a dominant 25-10 win for his eight technical fall on the year.
The Dragons earned back-to-back tech fall wins as Giuseppe Hoose held his opponent to just one point, getting the 16-1 win. Ibrahim Ameer won his fifth dual bout of the season, and his first by major decision. Ameer held his opponent scoreless for a 11-0 win.
Shane Whitney closed things out for the Dragons. The redshirt junior picked up his first dual win, defeating Brody Kline with a 5-1 decision win.
