Men's Squash Defeats Virginia to Take Home the Holley Cup

LANCASTER, PA – Drexel men's squash wins the Holley Cup after defeating Virginia 5-4 in the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Final. The Dragons avenged an early season 6-3 loss to Virginia.
Yuri Pelbart gave Drexel momentum with a strong four-game victory over Dylan Moran (11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9), while Charlie Taylor followed with a 3-0 win against Maxwell Velazquez (11-6, 11-9, 11-9). Dima Dumitru added another point, battling through tight moments to defeat Nathan Rosenzweig (12-10, 11-6, 11-9). Sean Murphy picked up an important four-game win over Ewan Harris (11-9, 11-8, 11-13, 11-7).
With the match tied at 4-4, all eyes turned to Tavneet Mundra. After dropping the second game, Mundra responded with a clutch third-game tiebreak to take control, ultimately defeating Francis Hajek 11-9, 4-11, 12-10, 11-6 to clinch the win for Drexel.
The Dragons will be on the road at Cambridge, Massachusetts to take on Harvard on February 15th. The match is set for 12:00pm.
