Men's Tennis Cruises Past Lehigh, 7-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Drexel men's tennis picked up a road victory on Saturday with a convincing 7-0 win at Lehigh at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center. The Dragons won four of their singles matches in straight sets as they won for the second straight outing. Drexel is now 5-2 this season, while the Mountain Hawks are now 4-3.
Drexel opened by winning two of the three doubles matches to take the first point. The teams of Hussein El Tawil and Will Burridge picked up a 6-3 win, while Antonio Franquis and Josue Guzman won their contest, 6-4
On the singles side, graduate student Alex De Sousa was impressive well in picking up the victory in first singles. He defeated Lehigh's Jose Murariu in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-2. Senior Hussein El Tawil and graduate student Roman Lafond also won convincingly at second and fourth singles, respectively. Will Burridge won his match in a tie-breaker as did Tiago Lima.
The Dragons are off until next Friday, March 7, when they visit the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis for a 1 p.m. match.
