Men’s Rowing Collects Multiple Wins at Schuylkill Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's rowing team completed a successful day at the Schuylkill Invitational on the Schuylkill River Saturday. The Dragons were victorious in five races on the day, tied for the most of any team.
The second varsity 8+ team went two-for-two in Philadelphia. The team of Emma Houghton (Coxswain), Ben Werber (Stroke), Nick Foley, Zach Key, Aidan Ionescu, Samuel Lozek, Willem Kirsch, Collin Gross, and Jono Andersson (Bow) defeated the boats from Holy Cross and Gonzaga in their first race of the day. They then sank the team from Navy, finishing at 5:30.49.
The 3V8+ posted the fastest time of the day for Drexel. In Sheller II, Derek Kaiser (Coxswain), Danilo Djokic (Stroke), Andrei Axintoi, Braeden Montgomery, Dearon Tufankjian, Jakob Mauntel, Bartek Socha, Illia Chykanov and Milo Epstein (Bow) clocked in at 5:25.0 in race number two against the Midshipmen. They also bested Holy Cross in their first race of the day.
The 5V8+ crew was also victorious, coming home with a time of 5:51.70 over Navy and Hobart.
